PineCone Executive Director David Brower Announces Retirement

After leading PineCone for more than six years, Executive Director David Brower has announced his retirement later this year.
David has played a meaningful role in strengthening PineCone’s presence in the Triangle and beyond and in deepening its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional music.
During his tenure, PineCone expanded its programming, strengthened community partnerships, and continued to elevate artists and traditions that are central to the region’s cultural heritage. Through concerts, festivals, educational programs, and artist support, PineCone has remained a trusted steward of roots music in the Triangle.
As we seek our next executive director, David will work closely with PineCone’s board and staff to support a thoughtful and smooth transition.
“We are deeply grateful for David’s leadership and the impact he has had on PineCone and the broader community,” said board chairman Jack Roush. “His dedication to artists, audiences, and the preservation of traditional music has positioned the organization well for its next chapter.”
The PineCone board of directors will conduct a search for David’s successor in the coming weeks, assisted by Armstrong McGuire & Associates, a Raleigh-based search firm specializing in nonprofits.
“It has been an honor to serve PineCone and to be part of a community that cares so deeply about traditional music and the artists who keep it alive,” David said. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident in the organization’s future.”
