Collective is where nonprofits tell their own stories, and where anyone can find the ones worth showing up for.

Our mission
Most of the good work in a city never makes the news. The local paper that used to cover the food bank, the land trust and the Saturday cleanup has fewer reporters every year, and the feeds that replaced it show people what keeps them scrolling, not what is happening down the street.
So the people doing the work tell the story themselves, one post at a time, and hope the right person sees it. Usually the right person doesn’t. Not because nobody cares. Because nobody built the place where caring could find the work.
We built Collective to be that place. Every story here is published by the organization that did the work, in its own words and its own colors. Anyone can read it, add the organizations they care about, and say what they would actually do: show up, volunteer, give, or pass it on. When one of those organizations needs exactly that, we pass it on.
Collective’s mission is to make the good work in every city impossible to miss, by giving the organizations doing it a home that reaches new people, and giving everyone else an easy way to be part of it.
How Collective works
For people, Collective is free, and it always will be. There are no ads, and nobody pays to be featured.
Organizations with budgets under $50,000 use every tool for free. Larger ones pay a flat monthly price set by their budget, never by the size of their list, and our prices are suggestions. When someone gives through Collective, they add a small fee on top that they see before they pay, so the gift reaches the organization whole.

Freedom Ride RescueWhat we promise
Nothing here is for sale.
No ads, and no paid placement. A story is featured because people are paying attention to it, and we show how we decided.
An organization’s people stay its own.
Every join, gift and RSVP belongs to the organization. We never sell a list, and nobody else ever gets one.
A price you can live with.
Our prices are suggestions, modeled on a cafe in Raleigh where every meal has one. If a price isn’t possible right now, we work it out.
You hear only what you asked for.
Say you’d volunteer, and we write when help is needed. Nothing else, and you can stop it in one tap.
