On the Road to Fayetteville

What do you do when one of your newer programs doubles in attendance in a month? Visit it, of course!

I recently visited the Beyond Blue Neighborhood Center in Fayetteville while teacher Audri Burgos was leading a chair yoga class. When I arrived, the friendly team of Lauren, Terrence and John provided me with a tour of the beautiful space that once was a music store. I could also see the students utilizing their chairs for standing poses.

Once class was over, fourteen joyful people of various ages, races and genders chatted, shared snacks and cited how they enjoyed and cherished the opportunity to build community, feel better and have fun. Some have attended classes from the beginning in September 2025 and some were new students. All were deeply committed to continuing their ongoing accessible yoga practices. This was so fulfilling for me.

Then I met Audri in person for the first time. Their passion for holistic health, with yoga as part of it, brought me further satisfaction for making the 90 minute trip. And an understanding of why her students love her.

Please meet Audri in this video.

What was also special was seeing how the Center has grown in free programming for the Fayetteville community. Some of the many offerings include bingo (with up to 50 attendees), line dancing, hip hop dancing, CPR training and arts & crafts classes.

Thank you to the Beyond Blue team for improving the quality of people’s lives. Your investment is paying off well.
